The FDA has issued a recall of 12 popular ashwagandha supplement brands after testing revealed heavy metal contamination exceeding safe limits by up to 500% in some products.

Affected Brands

The recall includes products from Amazon's top-selling supplement brands, affecting an estimated 2 million bottles currently in consumer hands. Lead and arsenic were the primary contaminants found.

Consumer Advisory

The FDA urges consumers to check the recall list and discontinue use of affected products immediately. Third-party tested brands from NSF and USP-certified manufacturers were not affected.
